What is a social psychology and AI course?

It is not a class that asks AI to judge friends or diagnose emotions. Students turn an everyday social question into something they can check with privacy-safe data.

Psychology
Students study how growth-mindset feedback, believing that someone is watching, peer feedback, and emotion regulation may affect choices and behavior.
Data
They change one condition, compare results, and repeat a check to separate an observation from a cause.
AI
They compare AI methods that find emotion cues in Korean text or draw friendship graphs. The AI gives no answer when confidence is low.
Research ethics
They use public data, professionally written fictional situations, and fictional class data instead of studying real friends.

The sequence of one session

Every session starts with a prediction, not a conclusion.

Students make a prediction or inspect data within the first 15 minutes. They then produce a result and check whether another explanation is possible.

Use a simple calculation or AI method to organize the result in a table or graph.

Privacy by design

Answers found without making a friend the subject.

A useful research question does not justify collecting personal data. Students design experiments that work without it from the beginning.

  • No real names, contact details, private messages, or group chats are collected.
  • Faces, location, health, family, and grade data are not given to AI.
  • Public data, fictional class data, and combined group results come first.
  • AI never claims to know a person's emotion or personality. It gives no answer when confidence is low.

Format and starting requirements

What is Social Brain Lab?

It is an 18-session course for Grades 7-12. Students study questions about friendship, emotion, relationships, and social judgment with privacy-safe data and AI.

Is the course online only?

No. CIT offers both onsite classes at its Apgujeong campus and online classes. A blended arrangement may also be discussed around the student's schedule and needs.

Is the course one-to-one only?

No. The course can run one-to-one or in a small group. Team activities follow the same readiness and privacy rules.

Do students provide real messages or information about friends?

No. The course does not collect real names, private messages, contact details, faces, location, or health data. It prioritizes public data, fictional class data, and combined group results.

Can a student begin without prior psychology or coding experience?

Yes. After a readiness review, the student uses the Explorer, Builder, or Researcher option. The question stays the same while the amount of guidance and independent work changes.
