Assessment & Deliverables

Weekly Deliverables

You write a bilingual Korean-English notebook (condensed F1·F2 scope) every week. This leverages international school students' English strengths while also preparing for the Korean free-response KOAI Middle School exam.

Mock Exams

We run Middle School format mock exams (3-hour / 40 multiple-choice + 5 free-response) biweekly and track score trends. We repeatedly drill exam time management and free-response writing.

Portfolio Contribution: a waiver that accelerates the move to the High School division

The Middle School division has no Round 1 application, but we build up the GitHub repo foundation you'll use when moving to the High School division. A Grand Prize or Gold in the Middle School division waives the High School Round 1 application within 2 years. This waiver greatly accelerates the move to the High School division.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is M1 for?

It's a course for grade 7–9 students sitting the KOAI Middle School division directly. Prior study of basic Python syntax is required, and if Python is shaky, we reinforce it with the CIT Coding Class or the E2 short version.

Why does placing in the Middle School division matter?

Winning the Grand Prize or Gold in the Middle School division waives the High School Round 1 application within 2 years. It's a big reward, which makes M1 the most important track for grade 8–9 students. Check the exact waiver conditions in the KOAI competition guide.

Does M1 also cover Subjects 3 and 4?

No. It covers only Subjects 1 and 2, the Middle School scope, in condensed form (Subjects 3·4 excluded). The first half is condensed F1, the second half is condensed F2 + Middle School mock exams.

Does M1 get easier if I've taken E3?

Yes. E3 graduates have already experienced about 5–6 weeks of M1's first half, so after a diagnostic, an advanced section or accelerated pacing is possible.

I'm in grade 9 — can I also sit the High School division?

Grade 9 and up can also sit the High School division in the same round. We branch based on your path; check the exact eligibility and schedule in the KOAI competition guide (https://citcoding.com/competitions/koai.html).
