C1 directly impacts 95% of the KOAI high school division's Round 1 application review—portfolio 40% + AI ability 30% + growth potential 25%. Rather than gathering scattered deliverables all at once, we work backward from the design stage to determine, for each evaluation criterion, what evidence should appear where and how.
To do this, we integrate the personal statement + AI portfolio website (Notion/GitHub Pages) + school record subject-detail linkage into a single, consistent story. The goal is to make the three deliverables reinforce the same message from different angles.
F1·F2 Concurrent enrollment or prior completion is required. It runs as a two-stage format: long-term track + intensive right before Round 1—approx. 7 hours long-term + approx. 7 hours intensive = about 14 hours total, with the student's own independent portfolio work separate. For the exact Round 1 application deadline, see the KOAI Competition Guide.
C1 consists of four modules, each corresponding to one of the four Round 1 application evaluation criteria. Each module produces an independent deliverable while being designed to converge into a single, consistent story.
| Module | Evaluation criterion mapping | Content |
|---|---|---|
| M1. Build the portfolio site | Portfolio 40% | Notion / GitHub Pages template, structuring 5-8 project case studies, bilingual Korean-English |
| M2. Curate the AI activity log | AI ability 30% | Rearrange F1·F2·A1·A2 deliverables into a "story" (not a simple list), visualizing depth, specificity, and the growth curve |
| M3. Write the personal statement | Growth potential 25% | Multiple rounds of revision on Prompt 1 (motivation, 200 chars) + Prompt 2 (AI learning experience, 300 chars), using the CIT hook craft framework |
| M4. Link to school record subject details | Academic ability 5% | Coaching on school activities so that traces of AI learning appear in the subject details for Computing, Math, Science, and English |
* Approx. 14 hours total (long-term + intensive), ranging from 10-20 hours. The student's own independent portfolio work time is separate.
① One integrated portfolio site (for kitpa.org submission) ② Final personal statement (multiple revisions to v5+ for each of Prompts 1 and 2) ③ School record subject-detail linkage report (for school submission)
Long-term track (ongoing accumulation) + 4-week intensive right before Round 1 (completion just before the deadline). You accumulate deliverables over time and integrate and finalize them in the intensive stage right before the deadline.
C1 directly impacts 95% of the KOAI Round 1 application (portfolio 40 + AI ability 30 + growth potential 25). The following two principles run through the entire design.
① The personal statement keeps the student's own voice
CIT coaches the hook, structure, and logical flow, but the student writes the wording themselves (accounting for the possibility of verification by judges).
② The portfolio favors "depth over quantity"
Organizing 5 projects into 3-page case studies each is superior to simply listing 20.

The 40% portfolio weight is a function of time you can't manufacture in the final weeks before the exam. We recommend starting the long-term track at least 9 months before the high-school division's Round 1. Check the KOAI competition guide for exact deadlines.
No. CIT coaches the hook, structure, and logical flow, but the student does the actual writing. This is a principle grounded in keeping the work verifiable by judges.
No. Depth beats quantity. Five projects each written up as a 3-page case study beats a simple list of 20.
The instructor coaching time is about 14 hours (about 7h long-term + about 7h intensive); the student's own independent portfolio work time is separate.
C2 Mock Exam Bootcamp (Round 2 written) → C3 Selection Camp (Round 3 interview). For exact dates, see the KOAI competition guide (https://citcoding.com/competitions/koai.html).
We assess the student's accumulated work and design a personalized portfolio and personal-statement strategy covering 95% of the Round 1 document review.
